When viewing a list, there will be a link to the corresponding Spotify playlist at the top of the page. All of those playlists can be seen linked below. (Note: not every year has both a songs and albums list)

Discovering music

I use two main sites to discover music:
Both of those websites have lists for the user-voted best albums of the year, critic-voted best albums, recent releases, and a lot more. They are both great for getting a quick glance at new and popular music, and offer plenty of tools for discovering more niche music if that is what you want.
